Sulfonated multi-walled carbon nanotubes for biodiesel production through triglycerides transesterification

open access: yes, 2017
Effective solid acid catalysts play a key role to produce high-quality biodiesel through triglyceride transesterification. The present work describes a facile technique for the synthesis of a high-performing sulfonated multi-walled carbon nanotube (S ...

Alnustone Ameliorates Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease by Facilitating Mitochondrial Fatty Acid β‐Oxidation via Targeting Calmodulin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies alnustone, a natural compound from Alpinia katsumadai, as a potent therapeutic agent for MASLD and MASH. Alnustone enhances mitochondrial fatty acid β‐oxidation by directly targeting calmodulin, improving liver steatosis, fibrosis, and insulin resistance in vivo.

A peroxidase-coupled method for the colorimetric determination of serum triglycerides.

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1983
We describe an enzymatic method for rapid, precise measurement of serum triglycerides with use of sample:reagent ratios as large as 1:200. Hydrolysis of triglycerides is catalyzed by lipase to produce glycerol and free fatty acids. The glycerol generated

DNA‐PKcs‐Driven YAP1 Phosphorylation and Nuclear Translocation: a Key Regulator of Ferroptosis in Hyperglycemia‐Induced Cardiac Dysfunction in Type 1 Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the context of chronic hyperglycemia, a DDR is initiated, leading to the pathological activation of DNA‐PKcs in the diabetic heart. This activated DNA‐PKcs directly interacts with and phosphorylates YAP1 at Thr226, thereby increasing the nuclear expression of YAP1.

Secondary prevention by raising HDL cholesterol and reducing triglycerides in patients with coronary artery disease.

open access: yesCirculation, 2000
BACKGROUND Coronary heart disease patients with low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels, high triglyceride levels, or both are at an increased risk of cardiovascular events, but the clinical impact of raising HDL-C or decreasing ...

Tailoring a Functional Synthetic Microbial Community Alleviates Fusobacterium nucleatum‐infected Colorectal Cancer via Ecological Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The bottom‐up strategy based on multiomics data is used for the SynCom design, and it successfully inhibited F. nucleatum growth and achieved stable colonization in vivo. In addition, it promoted tryptophan metabolism and secondary bile acid conversion, reduced lipid accumulation, relieved microbiome disorder, decreased inflammatory reaction, and ...
