Central obesity as a precursor to the metabolic syndrome in the AusDiab study and Mauritius
Evidence from epidemiologic studies that central obesity precedes future metabolic change and does not occur concurrently with the appearance of the blood pressure, glucose, and lipid abnormalities that characterize the metabolic syndrome (MetS) has been

The TALENTs randomized controlled trial evaluates the potential of nucleotides supplementation as an anti‐aging intervention in older adults. After 19 weeks, nucleotides supplementation significantly reduces DNA methylation age, suggesting a delay in epigenetic aging, and improves insulin sensitivity without severe adverse events.

Elevated lactate in diabetes activates the GPR132‐Src pathway in macrophages, inducing macrophage senescence and further enhancing foam cell formation. This mechanism exacerbates atherosclerotic progression. Abstract Diabetes is widely acknowledged as a significant risk factor for atherosclerosis, facilitating plaque formation through various ...

Low nonfasting triglycerides and reduced all-cause mortality: a mendelian randomization study.
BACKGROUND Increased nonfasting plasma triglycerides marking increased amounts of cholesterol in remnant lipoproteins are important risk factors for cardiovascular disease, but whether lifelong reduced concentrations of triglycerides on a genetic basis ...
