Association between maternal lipid levels during pregnancy and delivery of small for gestational age: A systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2022
BackgroundStudies investigating the relationship between gestational dyslipidemia and small for gestational age (SGA) have reported differing results. This review was performed to determine whether maternal lipid levels during pregnancy were associated ...

Nanopore and nanoparticle formation with lipids, undergoing polymorphic phase transitions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We describe several unexpected phenomena, caused by a solid-solid phase transition (gel-to-crystal) typical for all main classes of lipid substances - phospholipids, triglycerides, diglycerides, alkanes, etc. We discovered that this transition leads to spontaneous formation of a network of nanopores, spreading across the entire lipid structure.

Studies on hepatotoxicity induced by chlorinated hydrocarbons. II. Lipid metabolism and absorption spectrum of microsomal lipid in the mice exposed to 1, 1, 2, 2-tetrachloroethane [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Female Cb mice weighing 20-23 g were exposed to 800 ppm (in average) of 1, I, 2, 2.tetrachloroethane for 3 hours. Both triglyceride and phospholipid in the liver and plasma were determined at varying times after the exposure.

Circadian Disruption and Metabolic Disease: Findings from Animal Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Social opportunities and work demands have caused humans to become increasingly active during the late evening hours, leading to a shift from the predominantly diurnal lifestyle of our ancestors to a more nocturnal one.

The Role of Triglycerides in Atherosclerosis [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Cardiology Reports, 2011
Hypertriglyceridemia is a prevalent risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) and increasingly important in the setting of current obesity and insulin resistance epidemics. High triglyceride (TG) levels are markers for several types of atherogenic lipoproteins.

Esterification of Free Fatty Acids with Glycerol within the Biodiesel Production Framework [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Companies in the field of the collection and treatment of waste cooking oils (WCO) for subsequent biodiesel production usually have to cope with high acidity oils, which cannot be directly transformed into fatty acid methyl esters due to soap production.

Effects of Diet Composition and Insulin Resistance Status on Plasma Lipid Levels in a Weight Loss Intervention in Women. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BackgroundOptimal macronutrient distribution of weight loss diets has not been established. The distribution of energy from carbohydrate and fat has been observed to promote differential plasma lipid responses in previous weight loss studies, and insulin

A Predictive Model of Live Birth Based on Obesity and Metabolic Parameters in Patients With PCOS Undergoing Frozen-Thawed Embryo Transfer

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2022
AimsTo determine the clinical predictors of live birth in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) undergoing frozen-thawed embryo transfer (F-ET), and to determine whether these parameters can be used to develop a clinical nomogram model capable of ...

Increased peripheral lipid clearance in an animal model of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Lipid Research 48, 7 (07/2007) 1571-1580, 2007
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is the most common adult motor neuron disease, causing motor neuron degeneration, muscle atrophy, paralysis, and death. Despite this degenerative process, a stable hypermetabolic state has been observed in a large subset of patients.
