First-principles study of crystalline mono-amino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene, 1,3-diamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene, and 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 2009
Abstract The electronic structure and thermodynamic properties of crystalline mono-amino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (MATB), 1,3-diamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (DATB), and 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) have been comparatively studied using density functional theory in the local density approximation.

Kupffer cells recognize trinitrobenzene-labeled erythrocytes

Immunology Letters, 1982
Chemical-modified erythrocytes (trinitrobenzene-modified erythrocytes (TNB-RBC)) are trapped in vivo rapidly by liver macrophages (Kupffer cells). The liver homing of TNB-RBC is dependent on the concentration of TNB-residues coupled to the surface of RBC. High concentrations induce liver homing, low concentrations spleen homing.

ASSESSMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS OF 1,3,5-TRINITROBENZENE

Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, 1997
The remedial investigation/feasibility studies conducted at certain Army installations showed a need to clean up contaminated sites, where high levels of ammunition chemicals such as 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT), 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene (TNB), 1,3-dinitrobenzene (DNB), and their degradation products/metabolites were detected in surface soil and ...

Reaction of ammonia with trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid

Analytical Biochemistry, 1980
Abstract 2,4,6-Trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid reacts stoichiometrically with ammonia in tetraborate buffer within 20 min at 35°C to give a compound (presumably picramide) with an absorbance macimum at 420 nm and ϵm 2.02 ± 0.07 × 104 m −1 cm−1 in the presence of 1.0 m m sulfite ions.

Trifluoromethylation of 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 1989
Abstract The trifluoromethyl anion was trapped as Meisenheimer complex 2 on heating a mixture of potassium trifluoroacetate and 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene (TNB) in DMF or DMSO. Treatment of 2 with tert -butylhypochlorite afforded 1-trifluoromethyl-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene ( 3 ).

Platelet-activating factor mediates trinitrobenzene induced colitis

Prostaglandins, Leukotrienes and Essential Fatty Acids, 1994
Platelet-activating factor (PAF) is an endogenous phospholipid which may be an important mediator of shock and inflammation. Recent evidence suggests that PAF plays a role in the development of ischemic colitis and inflammatory bowel disease. Its effects are mediated by second messengers, including the arachidonic acid metabolites.

Structure of 1,3,5-trichloro-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1993
The three formula units in the asymmetric unit are stacked in almost planar layers. The average interlayer distance is 4.062 (6) A, much greater than the normal spacing observed between benzene rings as a result of the large rotation of the nitro groups out of the ring planes by 72.3-88.2 o .
