3-pyramidal Steiner triple systems

open access: yesArs Mathematica Contemporanea, 2017
A design is said to be $f$-pyramidal when it has an automorphism group which fixes $f$ points and acts sharply transitively on all the others. The problem of establishing the set of values of $v$ for which there exists an $f$-pyramidal Steiner triple system of order $v$ has been deeply investigated in the case $f=1$ but it remains open for a special ...

MYCN Amplification in RB1‐Inactivated Retinoblastoma: Association With High‐Risk Features

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background MYCN amplification occurs in a subset of retinoblastoma cases, both with and without RB1 inactivation. It has been suggested that retinoblastomas with MYCN amplification represent a distinct entity with more aggressive clinical behavior.

Classifying two-dimensional hyporeductive triple algebra

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2006
Two-dimensional real hyporeductive triple algebras (h.t.a.) are investigated. A classification of such algebras is presented. As a consequence, a classification of two-dimensional real Lie triple algebras (i.e., generalized Lie triple systems) and two ...

Perfect countably infinite Steiner triple systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We use a free construction to prove the existence of perfect Steiner triple systems on a countably infinite point set. We use a specific countably infinite family of partial Steiner triple systems to start the construction, thus yielding 2ℵ0 non ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Photodynamical Modeling of the Compact, Multiply Eclipsing Systems KIC 5255552, KIC 7668648, KIC 10319590, and EPIC 220204960

open access: yesUniverse, 2023
We present photodynamical models of four eclipsing binary systems that show strong evidence of being members of higher-order multiple systems via their strong eclipse timing variations and/or via the presence of extra eclipse events.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Orbits of Six Triple Systems

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Joint analysis of position measurements and radial velocities of six triple stellar systems is conducted to determine their inner and/or outer orbits. Accumulation of such data is needed to study the architecture of stellar hierarchies and its relation ...

Graph factorization, general triple systems, and cyclic triple systems

open access: yesAequationes Mathematicae, 1981
In this self-contained exposition, results are developed concerning one-factorizations of complete graphs, and incidence matrices are used to turn these factorization results into embedding theorems on Steiner triple systems. The result is a constructive graphical proof that a Steiner triple system exists for any order congruent to 1 or 3 modulo 6.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...
