Micronucleus occurrence in diploid and triploid rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum)

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2003
The aim of the study was to observe the influence of different ploidy levels in fish on micronucleus occurrence. Twenty minutes after fertilization, one group of rainbow trout eggs was exposed to water temperatures of 26°C in duration of 20 minutes to ...

Telomerase Activity in Somatic Tissues and Ovaries of Diploid and Triploid Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) Females

open access: yesCells, 2023
Telomerase activity has been found in the somatic tissues of rainbow trout. The enzyme is essential for maintaining telomere length but also assures homeostasis of the fish organs, playing an important role during tissue regeneration.

Investigating the molecular mechanism of sterility in female triploid Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas)

open access: yesAquaculture Reports
The emergence of triploid oysters has freed the oyster market from the problem of interruptions in the breeding season, allowing for year-round availability.

Assessing Ploidy Level Analysis and Single Pollen Genotyping of Diploid and Euploid Citrus Genotypes by Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting and Whole-Genome Amplification

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Flow cytometry is widely used to determine genome size and ploidy level in plants. This technique, when coupled with fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), whole genome amplification and genotyping (WGA), opens up new opportunities for genetic ...

Identification of Triploid Individuals and Clonal Lines in Carassius Auratus Complex Using Microsatellites

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biological Sciences, 2011
The Carassius auratus complex in natural populations includes diploid triploid and polyploidy individuals. Diploid individuals belong to the species Carassius auratus whereas triploid and polyploidy individuals are from the subspecies Carassius auratus ...

Production of viable hybrids in salmonids by triploidization [PDF]

open access: yesGenetics Selection Evolution, 1983

Triploid burbot, Lota lota, production: Optimization of thermal and hydrostatic parameters, tetraploid induction, and confirmation of triploid sterility

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, 2023
Experiments were conducted to optimize triploid induction parameters, and assess triploid sterility, in burbot. Duration and timing of shocks were based on degree minutes, temperature multiplied by time, denoted as °C min.

Sonographic features of the triploid fetus

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1987
The sonographic characteristics of six viable triploid fetuses, with gestational ages ranging from 16 to 33 weeks, are presented. Each pregnancy was associated with decreased amniotic fluid volume, a significant lag in biparietal diameter and femur length, and severe head-to-body disproportion.

Estimation of the proportion of triploids in populations with diploid and triploid individuals.

open access: yesThe Journal of heredity, 1998
Populations with diploid and triploid individuals co-occur in various plant and animal species, but detecting their relative frequencies is problematic. Microsatellite markers can be used to detect triploids that have three distinct alleles at a given locus, but cannot identify triploids that are partially or fully homozygous (i.e., possessing two or ...
