Induction of diabetes in three different mouse strains uniformly resulted in an increase in TNAP activity and a reduction in pyrophosphate (PPi) in the circulation. Inhibition of TNAP restored plasma PPi. Diabetes‐induced calcification in the media layer of the aorta was detected only in the Abcc6−/− strain, which is predisposed to ectopic ...

A Variational Level Set Approach for Surface Area Minimization of Triply Periodic Surfaces
In this paper, we study triply periodic surfaces with minimal surface area under a constraint in the volume fraction of the regions (phases) that the surface separates.

KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

Band structures of P-, D-, and G-surfaces
We present a theoretical study on the band structures of the electron constrained to move along triply-periodic minimal surfaces. Three well known surfaces connected via Bonnet transformations, namely P-, D-, and G-surfaces, are considered.

Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (

The oCLP family of triply periodic minimal surfaces
CLP surfaces with orthorhombic distortion (oCLP for short) are a family of two-parameter triply periodic embedded minimal surfaces. We show that they correspnd to the Weierstrass function of the form ${k}/{\sqrt{\tau^8-(A +B)\tau^6+ (2 + AB)\tau^4-(A +B)\tau^2+1}}$ where A and B are free parameters with - 2 < A, B < 2 and A > B, τ is complex with |τ|≤1
