Triticum urartu, Aegilops speltoides and Ae. tauschii are respectively the immediate diploid sources, or their closest relatives, of the A, B and D genomes of polyploid wheats. Here we report the construction and characterization of arrayed large-insert libraries in a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) vector, one for each of these diploid species ...

As the largest class of resistant genes, the nucleotide binding site (NBS) has been studied extensively at a genome-wide level in rice, sorghum, maize, barley and hexaploid wheat. However, no such comprehensive analysis has been conducted of the NBS gene family in Triticum urartu, the donor of the A genome to the common wheat.

Transcription factor gene TuGTγ-3 is involved in the stripe rust resistance in Triticum urartu.
Yi chuan = Hereditas, 2017Wheat stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis West. f. sp. tritici Eriks. &Henn. (Pst), is a serious fungal disease. Identification of new genes associate with stripe rust resistance is important for developing disease resistant wheat cultivars and studying the mechanism of disease resistance.

Among Triticum species two different Au and Am genomes derived from Triticum urartu and Triticum monococcum, respectively, were recognized. Au and Am genomes share similar chromosomal organization, notwithstanding, significant molecular divergences have been assessed using sequence data and AFLP markers, supporting chimeric Au /Am chromosomes as a tool
