Tritium-titanium target degradation due to deuterium irradiation for DT neutron production
In the present article, we have investigated tritium removal from tritium-titanium targets during fusion neutron production and the impact of tritium degradation on neutron production. The removal of tritium from the target is predicted for deuterium ion

$\beta$-Decay Spectrum, Response Function and Statistical Model for Neutrino Mass Measurements with the KATRIN Experiment [PDF]
The objective of the Karlsruhe Tritium Neutrino (KATRIN) experiment is to determine the effective electron neutrino mass $m(\nu_\text{e})$ with an unprecedented sensitivity of $0.2\,\text{eV}$ (90\% C.L.) by precision electron spectroscopy close to the ...

Neutral tritium gas reduction in the KATRIN differential pumping sections [PDF]
The KArlsruhe TRItium Neutrino experiment (KATRIN) aims to measure the effective electron anti-neutrino mass with an unprecedented sensitivity of $0.2\,\mathrm{eV}/\mathrm{c}^2$, using $\beta$-electrons from tritium decay. The electrons are guided magnetically by a system of superconducting magnets through a vacuum beamline from the windowless gaseous ...

Measuring Anisotropies in the Cosmic Neutrino Background
Neutrino capture on tritium has emerged as a promising method for detecting the cosmic neutrino background (CvB). We show that relic neutrinos are captured most readily when their spin vectors are anti-aligned with the polarization axis of the tritium ...

Numerical modelling in support of a conceptual model for groundwater flow and geochemical evolution in the southern Outaouais Region, Quebec, Canada [PDF]
A two-dimensional vertical-section numerical model for groundwater flow and transport using age, tritium and chloride was used to help validate a conceptual model of geochemical evolution within a representative regional-scale hydrogeological system in ...

The tritium burn-fraction in DT fusion [PDF]
The fraction of the tritium that is burned during one pass through a DT fusion system, $f_{tb}$, is a central issue for success of fusion energy. Reducing the tritium fraction, $f_t$, in a $DT$ burning plasma below a half increases the burn fraction, $f_{tb}\propto1/f_t$ but also the required confinement to achieve a burn $nT\tau_E\propto1/f_t(1-f_t)$.

New simulations to qualify eutectic lithium-lead as breeder material [PDF]
Pb17Li is today a reference breeder material in diverse fusion R&D programs worldwide. One of the main issues is the problem of liquid metals breeder blanket behavior.
