Clinical evaluation and outcome in heart failure patients receiving chemotherapy with different anti‐cancer agents

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 3, Page 1965-1976, June 2025.
Abstract Background The optimal strategy for modern chemotherapy should be based on a comprehensive approach for cancer patients with cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, cardio‐oncology has received increasing attention owing to the cardiotoxic effects of anti‐cancer therapies.

Cdk5 is involved in BDNF-stimulated dendritic growth in hippocampal neurons.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2007
Neurotrophins are key regulators of neuronal survival and differentiation during development. Activation of their cognate receptors, Trk receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), is pivotal for mediating the downstream functions of ...

Structurally and Functionally Adaptive Biomimetic Periosteum: Materials, Fabrication, and Construction Strategies

open access: yesExploration, Volume 5, Issue 3, June 2025.
Schematic illustration of structural and functional biomimicry. The upper part shows BP with various structures such as monolayered, surface‐microstructural, bilayered and multilayered. The bottom part exhibits BP with different functions including immune regulation, drugs/cells/factors/ions loading, as well as bioelectrical stimulation and ...

Anemia and retinopathy of prematurity: A narrative review

open access: yesPediatric Investigation, Volume 9, Issue 2, Page 125-132, June 2025.
Anemia in infants who are at greatest risk of developing severe retinopathy of prematurity is almost universal. There is plausible evidence in the literature correlating anemia with severe ROP. However, the relationship is complex, and further study is needed to better understand the potential molecular mechanisms for anemia‐associated ROP.

Subcellular Localization of Full-Length and Truncated Trk Receptor Isoforms in Polarized Neurons and Epithelial Cells

open access: yesJournal of Neuroscience, 1999
Neurotrophins affect neuronal development and plasticity via spatially localized effects, yet little is known about the subcellular distribution of the Trk neurotrophin receptors and the impact of this distribution on neurotrophin action. To address this,

Responsiveness of different MET tumour alterations to type I and type II MET inhibitors

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2025.
Kinase mutations in RTKs are primary or secondary drivers in multiple cancer types Some of these mutations confer resistance to type I but not to type II inhibitors in preclinical samples and in patients The biochemical characterization of mutations in oncogenic kinases based on their sensitivity to type I and type II inhibitors is crucial to inform ...

Stimulatory effect of gonadal hormones on fetal rat hippocampal neural proliferation requires neurotrophin receptor activation in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
To determine the effects of gonadal hormones on proliferation of the hippocampal neural cells, which are of importance in learning and memory function. 17β-Estradiol or testosterone was added to the culture at various concentrations.

Basophil priming by neurotrophic factors. Activation through the trk receptor.

open access: yesJournal of Immunology, 1996
There is increasing evidence that nerve growth factor (NGF) acts on cells of the immune system, apart from its neurotrophic effects. In human basophils, NGF potentiates mediator release and primes the cells to produce leukotriene C4 in response to C5a ...

Nutraceutical Potential of Anthocyanins: A Comprehensive Treatise

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2025.
Anthocyanins reduce LDL, VLDL, TGs, and TC via improved GBA and upregulation of ATP6 V0C, ZO‐1, and ATG4D expression. The WHO/FAO suggested that 2.5 mg/kg/day of grape‐skin extracts of anthocyanins is safe, and China recommended that 50 mg/day of anthocyanins is safe for consumption.

NTRK2 expression in gastrointestinal stromal tumors with a special emphasis on the clinicopathological and prognostic impacts

open access: yesScientific Reports
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are typically characterized by activating mutations of the KIT proto-oncogene receptor tyrosine kinase (KIT) or platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRA).
