Plasma proteomic signature of decline in gait speed and grip strength

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 21, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Several plasma proteins were associated with physical function decline in adults from middle to older age, including GDF‐15, pleiotrophin, and TIMP‐1 for gait speed decline, and CA III, CDON, and SMOC1 for grip strength decline. These novel proteomic biomarkers may by explored as future mechanisms and targets for age‐related functional decline ...

Large‐scale genetic screens identify BET‐1 as a cytoskeleton regulator promoting actin function and life span

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 22, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Using a cross‐species screening approach combining genome‐wide CRISPR‐Cas9 screening in human fibroblasts (1) and synthetic lethality screening in Caenorhabditis elegans (2), we identified BET‐1/BRD4 as a novel regulator of the actin cytoskeleton (3). BET‐1/BRD4 promotes actin filament stability in C.

The conductor ideals of maximal subrings in non-commutative rings [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Let $R$ be a maximal subring of a ring $T$, and $(R:T)$, $(R:T)_l$ and $(R:T)_r$ denote the greatest ideal, left ideal and right ideal of $T$ which are contained in $R$, respectively. It is shown that $(R:T)_l$ and $(R:T)_r$ are prime ideals of $R$ and $|Min_R((R:T))|\leq 2$.

Association of ventricular–arterial coupling with biomarkers involved in heart failure pathophysiology – the STANISLAS cohort

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Association of ventricular–arterial coupling with heart failure (HF) biomarkers in the STANISLAS cohort. MMP, matrix metalloproteinase; NT‐proBNP, N‐terminal pro‐B‐type natriuretic peptide. Aims Impaired left ventricular–arterial coupling (VAC) has been shown to correlate with worse prognosis in cardiac diseases and heart failure (HF).

MODEL-BASED COST-CONSEQUENCE ANALYSIS OF POSTOPERATIVE TROPONIN T SCREENING IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING NONCARDIAC SURGERY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Introduction: Globally, more than 200 million patients undergo major non-cardiac surgery each year and more than 10 million patients will be exposed to postoperative myocardial ischemia, a condition strongly associated with 30-day mortality. The majority
