Dynamic pH profiles drive higher cell‐specific and volumetric productivity

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Implementation of dyamic pH profiles for increased CHO cell culture productivity. Abstract Mammalian cell cultures in bioreactors rely heavily on critical process parameter control to ensure optimal growth, productivity, and reproducibility to produce recombinant therapeutic proteins. Culture pH has been shown to be a critical parameter that influences

Dynamics of natural killer cell function upon recurrent stimulation

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Weekly stimulation of peripheral blood‐derived NK cells with engineered K562 feeder cells resulted in two distinct growth phases, shifting around Day 21–26. Cells in growth phase 2 exhibited slower growth, reduced metabolic activity, and lower cytotoxicity than cells from growth phase 1, which has implications for NK cell biomanufacturing.

Perigraftitis, an independent biologic complication associated with implants placed in grafted bone

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Perigraftitis is a recently introduced concept describing biologic complications specifically associated with implants placed in grafted bone. It is characterized by inflammation resulting from bacterial colonization of grafted bone and/or residual graft particulates.

Caffeine Content Assessment in Beverages and Food Supplements: Regulatory Challenges and Health Implications

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents an analysis of caffeine content in food supplements and evaluates current regulatory frameworks against established safety guidelines. High‐caffeine products, particularly sports, and food supplements, were assessed for compliance with the safety opinion of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). The investigation during

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy at a Crossroads: Translational Gap and Emerging Delivery Agents

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This review surveys recent advances in boron delivery agents for BNCT, emphasizing the shift from classical small molecules to multifunctional nanocarriers and theranostic systems. By integrating targeting, imaging, and therapy, next‐generation boron compounds aim to bridge the gap between (bio)chemical innovation and clinical translation.

Maternal‐to‐Infant Transfer of Medications for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Via Breastmilk: A Systematic Review of Available Evidence and Clinical Guidelines

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
This review evaluates the available pharmacokinetic data on the plasma‐to‐breastmilk transfer of first‐ and second‐line T2DM drugs against available clinical guideline recommendations. A list of drug therapies for treating T2DM was generated from national and international clinical guidelines.

RORγt‐APCs: The New Masters of Oral Tolerance

open access: yesBarrier Immunity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Oral tolerance is defined by the hypo‐responsiveness of our body to fed antigens, and its failure can lead to immune‐mediated diseases, such as allergy, chronic inflammation and autoimmune diseases. Decades of research have demonstrated that antigen‐presenting cells (APCs) promote oral tolerance by inducing regulatory T cells (Tregs) and/or ...

Investigations Into the Human Metabolism of Trestolone (7α‐Methyl‐19‐Nortestosterone)

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
As the known metabolites of 7α‐methyl‐19‐nortestosterone (MENT), M1 and M2, suffer from chromatographic issues under routine doping control conditions, the human metabolism of MENT was reinvestigated. From the numerous new metabolites detected, especially, M5 and M10 were identified as the most promising candidates to be implemented into routine ...
