Solution-Processed Carbon Nanotube True Random Number Generator

Nano Letters, 2017
With the growing adoption of interconnected electronic devices in consumer and industrial applications, there is an increasing demand for robust security protocols when transmitting and receiving sensitive data. Toward this end, hardware true random number generators (TRNGs), commonly used to create encryption keys, offer significant advantages over ...

Tiny True Random Number Generator

2009
Random Number Generators (RNGs) play a crucial role in the security of modern-day cryptographic modules. In cryptography they are used to generate initialization vectors for cryptographic primitives and protocols, keys for secret and public-key algorithms, seeds for pseudo-random number generators, challenges, nonces, padding bits, and system ...

True Random Number Generators in FPGAs

2011
The issue of random number generation is crucial for the implementation of cryptographic systems in FPGAs. Random numbers are often used in key generation processes, authentication protocols, zeroknowledge protocols, padding, in many digital signature schemes, and even in some encryption algorithms.

A 0.43pJ/bit true random number generator

2014 IEEE Asian Solid-State Circuits Conference (A-SSCC), 2014
A small-area energy-efficient true random number generator (TRNG) is presented. This TRNG introduces a jitter signal generator to realize the noise pre-amplification, and utilizes a metastable latch to resolve the jitter edges. Moreover, to tolerate the process and environment variations, an offset calibration is employed to dynamically correct the ...

A meta-level true random number generator

International Journal of Critical Computer-Based Systems, 2010
True random number generators (TRNGs) are extensively used in cryptography, simulations and statistics. In this work, we introduce, extend and analyse the concept of the randomised bit cell (RBC), introducing a second meta-level of randomisation, being able to simultaneously produce random numbers and detect active non-intrusive attacks. The concept is

True Random Number Generator using Superconducting Qubits

2019 Device Research Conference (DRC), 2019
We evaluated the quality of conventional quantum True Random Number Generator (TRNG) using superconducting qubits from IBM. Our analysis indicated that the 1/0 ratio is severely affected by the noise. We proposed swapping of readout qubit and parameter optimization to fix readout and gate errors.

Intrinsic Entropy for True Random Number Generation

2012
Random numbers play a central role in a myriad of applications today ranging from statistical sampling and analysis, to computer simulation, graphics, cryptography, and hardware security. Most of these applications require a very high degree of randomness in the generated numbers, which warrants that the entropy source generating the randomness be pure
