A metastability-based true random number generator on FPGA
2017 IEEE 12th International Conference on ASIC (ASICON), 2017True random number generators (TRNGs) are essential components for a wide range of chips. This paper presents a novel method to design true random number generators on FPGA. By using cross-coupled NAND gates and manual routing, the proposed TRNG is implemented on Xilinx Virtex XC5VLX50T FPGA with a self-calibration and post processing circuit.

Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Security of Information and Networks, 2013Wireless networks need more security in comparison to the other networks due to their intrinsic vulnerabilities to possible attacks. It is expected that by using a distributed method for true random number generators (TRNG) in wireless sensor networks (WSN) and wireless LAN (WLAN) randomness quality of generated numbers can be enhanced.

On the Entropy of Oscillator-Based True Random Number Generators
2017True random number generators (TRNGs) are essential for cryptographic systems, and they are usually evaluated by the concept of entropy. In general, the entropy of a TRNG is estimated from its stochastic model, and reflected in the statistical results of the generated raw bits.
