TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Selecting the rank of truncated SVD by Maximum Approximation Capacity

open access: yes, 2011
Truncated Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) calculates the closest rank-$k$ approximation of a given input matrix. Selecting the appropriate rank $k$ defines a critical model order choice in most applications of SVD.

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

Data for indirect load case estimation of ice-induced moments from shaft line torque measurements

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
During ice navigation, blade measurements of ice-induced moments on ship propellers, are challenged by the harsh operating environment. To overcome this problem, shaft line measurements are performed inboard, and the required propeller loads are ...

Deep Learning of truncated singular values for limited view photoacoustic tomography [PDF]

open access: yesPhotons Plus Ultrasound: Imaging and Sensing 2019, 2019
We develop a data-driven regularization method for the severely ill-posed problem of photoacoustic image reconstruction from limited view data. Our approach is based on the regularizing networks that have been recently introduced and analyzed in [J. Schwab, S. Antholzer, and M. Haltmeier. Big in Japan: Regularizing networks for solving inverse problems

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Fast Sparse Bayesian Learning Method for Scanning Radar Super-Resolution Imaging

open access: yesIEEE Access
The high azimuth resolution and low computational complexity are significant for scanning radar super-resolution imaging. In this paper, we propose a fast sparse Bayesian learning method with truncated singular value (FSBL-T) to quickly improve the ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

STRUCTURAL DAMAGE IDENTIFICATION BY SINGULAR VALUE TRUNCATION METHOD

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2019
The singular value truncation method is studied in this work for structural damage identification. The main advantage of the proposed method is that it can obtain the robust and accurate results by the ill-posed linear equations due to measurement noise.

Stability estimates for the regularized inversion of the truncated Hilbert transform

open access: yes, 2016
In limited data computerized tomography, the 2D or 3D problem can be reduced to a family of 1D problems using the differentiated backprojection (DBP) method.
