Equine trypanosomiasis, a systematic review and meta‐analyses: Prevalence, morbidity and mortality
Abstract Background Equine trypanosomiasis is a neglected protozoal disease. Objectives To perform a systematic search of literature to explore: (1) In equines what is the global geographical distribution and prevalence of trypanosomiasis? In low and middle‐income countries (LMICs) is trypanosomiasis more prevalent than in higher‐income countries (HICs)

Protein import into mitochondria relies on TIM complexes and the membrane potential. Trypanosoma brucei has a unique TIM complex, and the role of one subunit, TbTim20, has remained unclear. Here, we show that TbTim20 is essential in cells lacking mitochondrial DNA. The importance of TbTim20 increases as the membrane potential decreases.

Trypanosoma evansi ima gen sličan genu za oligosaharil-transferazu klona I protozoona Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense. [PDF]
Recent data has shown that there are strong indications that the putative oligosaccharyl transferase genes from Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense were conserved within the family Trypanosomatidae.

Artificial intelligence‐powered microscopy: Transforming the landscape of parasitology
Abstract Microscopy and image analysis play a vital role in parasitology research; they are critical for identifying parasitic organisms and elucidating their complex life cycles. Despite major advancements in imaging and analysis, several challenges remain. These include the integration of interdisciplinary data; information derived from various model

Outcomes of Trypanosoma cruzi and Trypanosoma evansi infections on health of Southern coati (Nasua nasua), crab-eating fox (Cerdocyon thous), and ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) in the Brazilian Pantanal. [PDF]
The occurrence of Trypanosoma spp. in wild carnivore populations has been intensively investigated during the last decades. However, the impact of these parasites on the health of free-living infected animals has been largely neglected.

Key Regulators of Parasite Biology Viewed Through a Post‐Translational Modification Repertoire
ABSTRACT Parasites are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in both humans and animals, imposing substantial socioeconomic burdens worldwide. Controlling parasitic diseases has become one of the key issues in achieving “One Health”. Most parasites have sophisticated life cycles exhibiting progressive developmental stages, morphologies, and ...

Predisposing factors in enterotoxemias of camels (Camelus dromedarius) caused by Clostridium perfringens type A [PDF]
Clostridium perfringens type A a été isolé à partir de différents organes et d'intestins prélevés sur des dromadaires d'élevage et de course, morts des suites d'entérotoxémies aiguës et subaiguës dans deux foyers distincts.
