African trypanosomiasis (AT) is a vector‐borne disease caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Trypanosoma, primarily transmitted through the bite of infected tsetse flies in the genus Glossina. The disease is a major constraint to livestock production, causing reduced productivity, anemia, and mortality in affected animals.
