Sensory and chemical profiles of bread derived from the novel semi‐ and wholegrain flour enrichment of Triticum aestivum L. old genotypes with organic stinging nettle

open access: yesJSFA reports, Volume 5, Issue 3, Page 104-112, March 2025.
Abstract Background Bread made from refined Triticum aestivum L. flour, a staple food in large parts of the world, is considered a nutrient security risk. Strategies used to enhance the nutritional and functional properties of wheat‐derived food products include the use of semi‐ or wholegrain flour, old genotypes, and enrichment through fortification ...

GEOSPATIAL ANALYSIS OF PEDIATRIC TUBERCULOSIS IN BOHOL, PHILIPPINES: DISEASE CLUSTERS AND ACCESS TO CARE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Worldwide, children represent approximately 10% of global tuberculosis (TB) cases. We recently reported a high tuberculin skin test (TST)-positive prevalence (355/5,476; weighted prevalence=6.4%) among children (\u3c15 years) throughout the island of ...

Effect of Metal–Metal Distance on the Performance of Dual‐Atom Catalysts for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction: A Density Functional Theory and Micro‐kinetics Study

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Density functional theory calculations and microkinetic modeling were carried out on 108 dual‐atom catalysts with varied metalmetal distances ranging from 2.2 to 3.5 Å. The results reveal that moderate spacing of around 3.0 Å promotes bridging oxygen adsorption and dissociative reduction pathways, weakens the hydroxylhydroperoxyl scaling relationship ...

The Role of Testosterone Supplemental Therapy in Opioid-Induced Hypogonadism: A Retrospective Pilot Analysis

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Men's Health, 2017
Chronic opioid therapy for pain management is known to induce several endocrine changes. The authors examined the effect of testosterone supplemental therapy (TST) in patients with chronic, noncancer pain undergoing opioid therapy.

The complexity of diagnosing latent tuberculosis infection in older adults in long-term care facilities

open access: yesInternational Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2016
Objectives: In the USA, tuberculosis disease rates are highest in older adults. Diagnostic testing for latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) has not been evaluated carefully in this group.

Approximate Self-Assembly of the Sierpinski Triangle

open access: yes, 2010
The Tile Assembly Model is a Turing universal model that Winfree introduced in order to study the nanoscale self-assembly of complex (typically aperiodic) DNA crystals.

Liquid Phase TEM of Diffusing Emulsion Droplets

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Motion of emulsion droplets was observed via in situ liquid phase transmission electron microscopy. Analysis revealed that the motion is self‐affine and influenced by multiple stochastic processes, as well as a fractal landscape created by the electron beam.

Recombinant fusion ESAT6-CFP10 immunogen as a skin test reagent for tuberculosis diagnosis in children and adolescents: An open-label, randomized, multicenter phase III trial

open access: yesLabMed Discovery
Objective: There are limited data on the use of the creation tuberculin skin test (C-TST) for detecting tuberculosis (TB) infection (TBI) in individuals under 18 years of age.

Advancing Human‐AI Collaboration in Small and Medium‐Sized Enterprises: A Systems Engineering Approach

open access: yesSystems Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into organizational processes presents unique challenges for Small and Medium‐sized Enterprises (SMEs), particularly in fostering effective human‐AI collaboration. Unlike large corporations with extensive resources for AI adoption, SMEs require adaptable frameworks tailored to their specific ...

Biomarker changes associated with Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) conversion: a two-year longitudinal follow-up study in exposed household contacts. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2009
BACKGROUND:A high prevalence (50-80%) of Tuberculin Skin Test Positivity (TST+ >or=10 mm indurations) has been reported in TB endemic countries. This pool forms a huge reservoir for new incident TB cases.
