Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Strange or estranged bedfellows? Discerning the Taliban-Pakistan relationship [PDF]
The Afghan Taliban and Pakistan are often touted as two sides of the same coin, given the latter’s pivotal role in supporting the movement since its emergence in 1994, and subsequently in resurrecting it as a potent insurgent force against NATO.

Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.

Chamber‐specific decellularized extracellular matrices (ECMs) were developed, preserving native proteomic profiles of ventricular and atrial myocardium. These innate biochemical cues differentially modulate cardiomyocyte subtypes to drive engineered heart tissue development and function, highlighting the importance of incorporating regional ECM cues in

Bottom-quark effects in Higgs production at intermediate transverse momentum
We provide a precise description of the Higgs boson transverse momentum distribution including top and bottom quark contributions, that is valid for transverse momenta in the range m b ≲ p ⊥ ≲ m t , where m b and m t are the bottom and top quark masses.

From Intelligence gathering to Cyber Threat Detection [PDF]
Intelligence plays a key role in the detection and neutralisation of threat actors in cyberspace, particularly when dealing with advanced ones. However, the relationship between intelligence and the final detection capabilities is not well–defined in ...

We discuss a model with a SU(2) L doublet vector leptoquark (LQ), motivated by the recent experimental results relating to the lepton universality of B ¯ $$ \overline{B} $$ → D (*) τ ν ¯ τ $$ \tau {\overline{\nu}}_{\tau } $$ .

ABSTRACT Class Switch Recombination (CSR) is essential for generating high‐affinity antibody isotypes from IgM during adaptive humoral responses. Despite well‐established roles for various transcription factors, whether CSR is subject to dedicated post‐transcriptional control represents a significant gap in knowledge.
