The relationship between total yield, number of tubers and yield of large tubers in potato crops

The Journal of Agricultural Science, 1987
SummaryExperiments were made over 2 years at two sites using three varieties to investigate the relationship between total yield, number of tubers > 1 cm and the yield of tubers in the 60–80 mmsize range. Regressionanalysisrevealed that yield of tubers in the 60–80 mm size range was a linear function of total yield and number of tubers > 1 cm ...

Tuber yield and tuber traits of haploid-wild species F1 hybrids

Potato Research, 1986
Haploid-wild species hybrids have been produced that incorporate desirable traits and genetic diversity from wild species into the cultivated potato. Nine wild species were represented in 210 hybrids which were evaluated in a yield trial with ten haploid parents and four cultivars. Haploid-wild species hybrids yielded up to 3.1 kg/hill, compared to 1.8

The Effect of Different Shade Levels on Growth and Tuber Yield of Sweet Potato: II. Tuber Yield

Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science, 1995
AbstractEight sweet potato cultivars (Ipomoea batatas Lam.) were grown under four different light regimes (0, 26, 42 and 60 % light reduction (LR)) at two experimental sites of the International Potato Center (CIP) in Peru during the 1990 and 1991 growing season.

High-yield ethanol production from Jerusalem artichoke tubers

World Journal of Microbiology & Biotechnology, 1991
Fermentation conditions were optimized for the production of ethanol from Jerusalem artichoke with a strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae able to use high-concentration juice and undiluted pulp. Yields (95 to 125 g ethanol/l=85 to 98% of the theoretical value) exceeded those obtained with strain of Kluyveromyces used classically.

Irrigation water quality and mulching effects on tuber yield and soil properties in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) under semi-arid conditions of Indian Punjab

, 2020
A field experiment was conducted for 5 years from 2009 to 2015 at Punjab Agricultural University Regional Research Station, Bathinda, Punjab, India to observe the effect of irrigation water quality on tuber yield, soil characteristics and water ...
