Marketable tuber yield stability in potato

Cereal research communications, 2008
In the paper was analyzed marketable tuber yield stability of eight foreign potato cultivars (Arosa, Rosara, Velox, Flavia, Satina, Hopehely, Goliath and Rioja) grown in Croatian production environments for three growing seasons (2003-2005), on four locations (Brinje, Varaždin, Velika Kopanica and Osijek).

Effects of breaking seed tubers on yield components of the tuber crop Plectranthus edulis

The Journal of Agricultural Science, 2012
SUMMARYPlectranthus edulis is an ancient tuber crop, cultivated in Ethiopia, which produces stem tubers on stolons below the ground; however, agronomic and physiological information on this crop is scarce. Three field experiments were carried out at each of two locations (Awassa and Wondogenet, Ethiopia).

EFFECT OF BIO-AND MINERAL FERTILIZERS ON GROWTH, YIELD AND TUBER QUALITY OF POTATO PLANTS: 2- YIELD AND TUBER QUALITY

Journal of Plant Production, 2009
Decreasing NPK dose less than the recommended dose decreased significantly tuber yield [measured as tubers yield (g) per plant, tubers numbers per plant, tubers dry weight per plant and total yield (ton/fed.) as well as its components from protein, ascorbic acid ,starch, N, P ,K, total soluble solids and specific gravity in both studied seasons.

Effect on Tuber Yield of the Exposure of Yam Tubers to Light1

Agronomy Journal, 1976
AbstractThis study was designed to determine the effect of exposure of yam (Dioscorea alata L.) tubers to light on tuber yield, since the emergence of yam tubers from the ground as a result of a compacted or restricting soil layer was found by the authors in previous unpublished studies to be associated with reduced tuber yield. Yam tubers were allowed

Potato tuber yield and quality in response to different nitrogen fertilizer application rates under two split doses in an irrigated sandy loam soil

Journal of plant nutrition, 2019
Management strategies to minimize nitrogen (N) losses to the atmosphere and water bodies from potato production fields while maintaining tuber yields and quality relies on good N management.

THE EFFECT OF FLOWER REMOVAL ON POTATO TUBER YIELD

Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1990
Relationships between fruit and vegetative growth may influence tuber yield. In 1987, flower removal significantly increased yield at irrigated and dryland sites for the potato clone ND860-2. In 1988, flower removal did not significantly increase yield in Norchip, ND2008-2 or ND860-2 planted under dryland conditions. Response to flower removal appears

Forecasting potato tuber yield using a soil electromagnetic induction method

European Journal of Soil Science, 2019
Timely forecasting of crop yield is vital for precision agriculture management practices. This study used on‐the‐go proximal soil sensing using electromagnetic induction (EMI) readings of apparent ground electrical conductivity (ECa) to map ECa and ...

Effect of herbicides on weed control and potato tuber yield under different tuber eye orientations

Indian Journal of Weed Science, 2019
Weed management and planting methods in potato cultivation affect the tuber yield and quality significantly, and hence, requires proper management. Therefore, to explore the possibilities of developing a pre-emergence (PE) herbicide application system for potato planter specially for cut seed pieces (tubers) a study was conducted at ICAR-Directorate of

Effects of cutting seed tubers on number of stems and tubers and tuber yields of several potato varieties

The Journal of Agricultural Science, 1979
SUMMARYSix experiments are reported which examined the effects of various seed cutting treatments on numbers of tubers and tuber yields of several maincrop potato varieties. Using conventional potato ridges, the cutting of seed tubers into 12 mm cubes or the use of potato peel reduced early growth and yields compared with whole tubers in some ...

EFFECT OF BIO-ACTIVATORS ON THE TUBER YIELD AND TUBER SIZE OF POTATOES

2015
Two bio-activators, the Crop-set and the ISR-2000 were sprayed on the potato plants before flowering in order to increase tuber set and tuber size in a field trial conducted at Bornova, Izmir-Turkey in 2009 and 2010. The Crop-set increased the number of tubers per plants, plot yield, tuber width over the control in 2009 and 2010.
