Combined Neuroprotective Effects of N,N‐Dimethyltryptamine and Ventral Root Reimplantation Following Spinal Root Avulsion in Rats

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 2, February 2026.
The ventral root avulsion (VRA) model provides an excellent experimental paradigm for studying injuries at the Central/Peripheral Nervous Systems (CNS/PNS) interface. By physically disconnecting motoneurons (MNs) from the spinal cord surface, VRA induces profound cellular, molecular, and functional deficits with limited spontaneous recovery.

Maxillofacial Squamous Cell Carcinoma With Cervical Metastasis and Tuberculous Lymphadenitis: Diagnostic Dilemmas and Clinical Insights

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Maxillofacial squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) typically metastasizes to lymph nodes, yet coexisting tuberculous lymphadenitis is extraordinarily rare, posing diagnostic challenges. Case A 68‐year‐old female with right maxillofacial SCC and ipsilateral lymphadenopathy underwent radical resection and selective neck dissection after ...

Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Systemic Sclerosis: Current Evidence and Future Directions

open access: yesACR Open Rheumatology, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune connective tissue disease marked by progressive fibrosis and multi‐organ involvement, most notably in the lungs. Among patients with rapidly progressive diffuse cutaneous SSc and interstitial lung disease (ILD), autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) has emerged as one of the most ...

Tuberculin skin test

open access: yesAbant Medical Journal, 2015
Tuberculosis continues to be one of the major infectious diseases threatening millions of lives worldwide, mainly in developing but also in developed countries. It is estimated that approximately one-third of the world’s population is infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

The infectiousness of tuberculosis patients coinfected with HIV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The current understanding of airborne tuberculosis (TB) transmission is based on classic 1950s studies in which guinea pigs were exposed to air from a tuberculosis ward.

Abdominal Sarcoidosis: A Mystery Revisited

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Unexplained lymphadenopathy is an often‐encountered symptom or abnormal finding during physical examinations in practice, and it can stem from a wide range of causes. These require multiple investigations to reach a diagnosis. One of the rare causes is Sarcoidosis, which is a multi‐system disease characterized by the infiltration of various ...

Early Optic Nerve Symptoms in Neurosarcoidosis: A Clinical Case Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Neurosarcoidosis is a rare and often misdiagnosed condition. It should be considered in patients with unexplained neurological symptoms, especially when associated with systemic inflammatory findings. Early diagnosis and immunosuppressive therapy are crucial to prevent irreversible neurological damage.

Effect of HIV-1 infection on T-Cell-based and skin test detection of tuberculosis infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
RATIONALE: Two forms of the IFN-gamma release assay (IFNGRA) to detect tuberculosis infection are available, but neither has been evaluated in comparable HIV-infected and uninfected persons in a high tuberculosis incidence environment.

Modular Nanosensing Platforms for Tuberculosis and Beyond: Engineering Biomaterials Toward Cross‐Pathogen Diagnostic Universality

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2025.
Modular nanosensing platforms utilize nanomaterials and functionalized interfaces to amplify trace different pathogens (like tuberculosis) antigen capture, suppress matrix interference, and enable multiplex detection. Their portability and cost‐effectiveness support rapid screening in resource‐limited settings and real‐time monitoring, advancing high ...
