The significance of pancytopenia in miliary tuberculosis [PDF]
Summary Patients with miliary tuberculosis accompanied by a pancytopenia rarely survive their disease. If the peripheral blood picture does recover it has been taken as an indication that there is no underlying haematological disease, and so re-examination of the bone marrow is not performed.

Abstract After two multistate outbreaks of allograft tissue‐transmitted tuberculosis (TB) due to viable bone, evidence‐based donor screening criteria were developed to decrease the risk of transmission to recipients. Exclusionary criteria, commentary, and references supporting the criteria are provided, based on literature search and expert opinion ...

TBNet:Pulmonary Tuberculosis Diagnosing System using Deep Neural Networks [PDF]
Tuberculosis is a deadly infectious disease prevalent around the world. Due to the lack of proper technology in place, the early detection of this disease is unattainable. Also, the available methods to detect Tuberculosis is not up-to a commendable standards due to their dependency on unnecessary features, this make such technology obsolete for a ...

Epidemic modelling of bovine tuberculosis in cattle herds and badgers in Ireland [PDF]
Bovine tuberculosis, a disease that affects cattle and badgers in Ireland, was studied via stochastic epidemic modeling using incidence data from the Four Area Project (Griffin et al., 2005). The Four Area Project was a large scale field trial conducted in four diverse farming regions of Ireland over a five-year period (1997-2002) to evaluate the ...

Label-free optical vibrational spectroscopy to detect the metabolic state of M. tuberculosis cells at the site of disease [PDF]
Tuberculosis relapse is a barrier to shorter treatment. It is thought that lipid rich cells, phenotypically resistant to antibiotics, may play a major role. Most studies investigating relapse use sputum samples although tissue bacteria may play an important role. We developed a non-destructive, label-free technique combining wavelength modulated Raman (

Chest X‐Ray Comparison Between Drug‐Resistant and Drug‐Sensitive Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Children
A chest X‐ray of a 16‐year‐old girl with pulmonary drug‐resistant tuberculosis (DR‐TB) is presented. Multiple cavities, fibrosis, and consolidation were seen, which are also the main findings commonly seen in children with DR‐TB in our study compared with children with pulmonary drug‐sensitive tuberculosis (DS‐TB).
