Modelling optical fibre cable [PDF]
Optical fibre cables are made by placing optical fibres inside a loose tube packed with a water based gel, and then winding these loose tubes on to a central strength member in helically wound sections of alternating twist separated by reversing sections.

Hydrodynamic View of Wave-Packet Interference: Quantum Caves [PDF]
Wave-packet interference is investigated within the complex quantum Hamilton-Jacobi formalism using a hydrodynamic description. Quantum interference leads to the formation of the topological structure of quantum caves in space-time Argand plots.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Raman G band in double-wall carbon nanotubes combining p doping and high pressure [PDF]
We use sulfuric acid as pressure medium to extrapolate the G-band position of the inner and outer tubes of double-wall carbon nanotubes. Keeping the G-band position of the inner and outer tubes constant, we can determine the fraction of double-wall and ...
