Unraveling the Mystery of Breast Cancer Dormancy: Insights into Genetic, Receptor, and Cellular Interactions Driving Late Recurrence

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Late recurrence of breast cancer poses a considerable threat to patient survival, often attributed to breast cancer dormancy. Dormancy, characterized by cancer cells remaining quiescent for extended periods, is influenced by genetic factors and ...

Mechanostimulatory Cues Determine Intestinal Fibroblast Fate and Profibrotic Remodeling in a Physiodynamic Human Gut‐on‐a‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative

β‐Adrenergic Signaling Promotes Anti‐Tumor Immunity in TP53‐mutant Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
β‐adrenergic stimulation enhances anti‐tumor immunity in TP53‐deficient oral squamous cell carcinoma by inducing tumor‐derived secretion of CXCL10, which attracts and activates cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. The findings demonstrate that β‐adrenergic signaling alters tumor–immune interactions via CXCL10‐mediated paracrine activation, revealing a neuro‐immune ...

Molekulare Charakterisierung von »Tumor-Dormancy« beim Pankreaskarzinom

open access: yes, 2004
Objective: A human pancreatic adenocarcinoma cell line (A818-6) — which shows all typical genetic alterations of malignant cells — develops single layer epithelial hollow spheres resembling normal pancreatic ductal structures in vitro. In this highly differentiation state of hollow sphere formation, A818-6 cells are showing growth arrest and a decrease

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Bridging the Gap in Breast Cancer Dormancy: Models, Mechanisms, and Translational Challenges

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Breast cancer (BC) poses a significant clinical challenge due to late metastatic recurrence, driven by dormant disseminated tumor cells (DTCs). This review emphasizes the urgency of addressing tumor dormancy to reduce metastatic relapse, a major ...
