Identification of a tumor necrosis factor-responsive element in the tumor necrosis factor alpha gene

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1991
The regulation by tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF) of its own promoter has been investigated by transient transfection and nuclear protein binding assays. In human K652 erythroleukemia cells TNF produced an 8-10-fold activation of the human TNF promoter linked to the chloramphenicol acetyltransferase gene.

Effectiveness and safety of baricitinib for juvenile idiopathic arthritis associated uveitis or chronic anterior antinuclear antibody positive uveitis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives Evaluate the efficacy and safety of baricitinib in paediatric patients with active JIA‐U or chronic anterior ANA‐positive uveitis, who had an inadequate response to MTX or bDMARDs. Methods JUVE‐BRIGHT was an open‐label, active‐controlled, Phase‐3 multicentre trial which utilized a novel design, including 1:1 randomization to an active ...

The Impact of Chronic Periodontitis on Mother-Infant Bonding Status in Relation to Salivary Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha and Interleukin-6

open access: yesJournal of Baghdad College of Dentistry, 2019
Background: Chronic periodontitis is a bacterial infection that result in bone destruction associated with the increasing level of salivary tumor necrosis alpha and interleukin6 that affect Mother-infant bonding status.

Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha In Preeclampsia

open access: yes, 2013
Pre-eclampsia is one of the most frequent complications of pregnancy, however, little is known about its aetiology. Insufficient adaptation of the decidual and intramyometrial portions of the spiral arterioles in preeclampsia results in reduced utero-placental blood flow, leading to local placental hypoxia.

Sarilumab in Polyarticular‐Course Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: Dose‐Finding and One‐Year Analysis of a Phase 2b, Open‐Label, Multicenter Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective This study assessed sarilumab in treating patients with polyarticular‐course juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pcJIA). Methods This phase 2b, open‐label study (NCT02776735) consisted of three sequential parts (each with a core‐treatment and extension‐phase). During part 1, three doses were assessed in two weight groups (Group A/B: ≥30–60 kg/≥10–<

Beyond Inflammation: Why Understanding the Brain Matters in Inflammatory Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Persistent pain remains a major challenge in inflammatory arthritis, even when joint inflammation is well controlled. Pain and associated symptoms such as fatigue cannot be explained by peripheral inflammation alone but reflect altered central pain processing. These changes may arise through “top‐down” mechanisms, reflecting pre‐existing dysfunction in

Sex differences in medication discontinuation in axial spondyloarthritis.

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective We examined sex differences in medication discontinuation among patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) initiating tumor necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi), interleukin‐17 inhibitors (IL‐17i), or Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKi). Methods Using data from the Rheumatology Informatics System for Effectiveness (RISE) Registry (2003–2025), we ...
