Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha and Mast Cells: Revisited Study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inflammation, 2011
Mast cells reside in connective tissues and are widely recognized as effector cells important in innate and acquired immunity. These cells are the only ones capable of storing preformed TNFα in their cytoplasmatic granules and release upon activation ...

Hubungan antara Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha dengan Demam Berdarah Dengue

open access: yesSari Pediatri, 2016
Latar belakang.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Release of TNF-α during myocardial reperfusion depends on oxidative stress and is prevented by mast cell stabilizers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Objectives: Our study sought to elucidate the role of oxidative stress for shedding of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and for activating TNF-α-converting enzyme (TACE).

Proinflammatory intervertebral disc cell and organ culture models induced by tumor necrosis factor alpha. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Inflammation plays an important role in the pathogenesis of intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration. The proinflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) has shown markedly higher expression in degenerated human disc tissue compared with ...

Homer1a inhibits caspase-6 signaling to attenuate inflammatory pain in the spinal dorsal horn

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research
Objective This study aimed to investigate the effect of Homer1a on caspase-6/tumor necrosis factor-alpha signaling pathway in an inflammatory pain model.

Tumor necrosis factor alpha gene polymorphism in Serbian patients with sarcoidosis [PDF]

open access: yesSrpski Arhiv za Celokupno Lekarstvo, 2013
Introduction. Sarcoidosis is a multisystemic disease of unknown etiology. Genetic factors play a considerable role in the onset of the disease. Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) is a proinflammatory cytokine which plays an important role in the ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
