Treatment of ankylosing spondylitis by inhibition of tumor necrosis factor alpha.
BACKGROUND There are few effective treatments for ankylosing spondylitis, which causes substantial morbidity. Because of the central role of tumor necrosis factor alpha in the spondyloarthritides, we performed a randomized, double-blind, placebo ...

Schematic illustration of the mechanism of targeted delivery of nanoparticles including 1) paracellular, 2) endolysosomal escape, 3) receptor mediated endocytosis, and 4) M cell mediated transport for non‐GI diseases by oral administration such as atherosclerosis, cancer, diabetes, and brain diseases. Abstract Oral drug delivery is a promising approach

Reaction-Diffusion Models for Glioma Tumor Growth [PDF]
Mathematical modelling of tumor growth is one of the most useful and inexpensive approaches to determine and predict the stage, size and progression of tumors in realistic geometries. Moreover, these models has been used to get an insight into cancer growth and invasion and in the analysis of tumor size and geometry for applications in cancer treatment

Stimulated human monocytes/macrophages are a source of mediators such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), interleukin 1 (IL-1), and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which can modulate inflammatory and immune reactions.

A) SLM generates biomimetic bone scaffolds with consistent porosity but varying TPMS‐Gyroid unit cell designs (TG15, TG20, TG25, TG30). B) By enhancing the expression of ITGB1, TPMS‐Gyroid scaffolds can facilitate osteogenic differentiation in BMSCs and promote M2 polarization in macrophages.

Most lifestyle-related chronic diseases are characterized by low-grade systemic inflammation and insulin resistance. Excessive tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) concentrations have been implicated in the development of insulin resistance, but ...

Melanoma cell spheroid engraftment is optimized in the chicken chorioallantoic membrane overcoming the complexity of other in vivo models. Using this model, greater penetration of cerium oxide nanoparticles (nanoceria) functionalized with heparin in spheroids is observed via enhancement of vascularization than nanoceria alone.

Imine Crosslinked, Injectable, and Self‐Healing Fucoidan Hydrogel with Immunomodulatory Properties
This study develops an injectable fucoidan‐based hydrogel with tunable properties for tissue engineering. By oxidizing fucoidan (OFu) to introduce aldehydes, imine crosslinks are formed with amine‐containing polymers, enabling self‐healing, injectability, and long‐term stability (≥28 days). The OFu‐gelatin hydrogel demonstrated biocompatibility, immune‐
