Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Decoding Hepatocellular Carcinoma Metastasis: Molecular Mechanisms, Targeted Therapies, and Potential Biomarkers

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Molecular Biology
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, with metastasis representing a pivotal factor in poor prognosis and high fatality rates.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Advances in the treatment of malignant tumors with neurological drugs

open access: yesDiscover Oncology
The nervous system governs the body’s components and is essential for the physiological functions of all organ systems. The nervous system governs how the body senses, processes, and responds to its environment.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Mitophagy-driven multidimensional regulation of tumor immune evasion and context-dependent therapeutic strategies

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Background Mitophagy is a core component of MQC that maintains metabolic homeostasis and undergoes threshold-dependent dysregulation within the TME.

Advances in preclinical and clinical studies of oncolytic virus combination therapy

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
Oncolytic viruses represent a distinct class of viruses that selectively infect and destroy tumor cells while sparing normal cells. Despite their potential, oncolytic viruses encounter several challenges as standalone therapies.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Oxidative Stress on the Ground and in the Microgravity Environment: Pathophysiological Effects and Treatment

open access: yesAntioxidants
With the continued exploration of the universe, there is an increasingly urgent need to address the health challenges arising from spaceflight. In space, astronauts are exposed to radiation, confinement and isolation, circadian rhythm dysregulation, and ...
