Novel fuzzy logic controllers with self-tuning capability
Two controllers which extend the PD+I fuzzy logic controller to deal with the plant having time varying nonlinear dynamics are proposed. The adaptation ability of the first self tuning PD+I fuzzy logic controller (STPD+I_31) is achieved by adjusting the ...

Font tuning : a review and new experimental evidence. [PDF]
This paper reflects on the kinds of evidence able to confirm that letter and word identification in reading can be supported by encoding the underlying visual structure of the text, and specifically by deriving structural descriptions for letters.

Patents, software and hardware for PID control: an overview and analysis of the current art [PDF]
Proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control provides simplicity, clear functionality, and ease of use. Since the invention of PID control in 1910 (largely owing to Elmer Sperry’s ship autopilot) and the straightforward Ziegler-Nichol (Z-N) tuning rule

Microwave Absorption Properties of Ceramics Based on BiFeO3 Modified with Ho
Ceramic samples of Bi1−xHoxFeO3, where x = 0.00–0.50, with a modifier concentration variation step ∆x = 0.05–0.10, were prepared by a two-step solid-phase synthesis followed by sintering using conventional ceramic technology.

We are exploring the problem of building an automated reasoning procedure that adaptively tunes the high-level solving strategy for a given problem. There are two main distinctive characteristics of our approach: tuning is performed solely online, unlike the common use of tuning as an offline process; and tuning data comes exclusively from the given ...
