Pharmacokinetic Bioequivalence of Orforglipron Tablets and Capsules in Healthy Participants With Obesity or Overweight

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims To evaluate the bioequivalence of orally administered orforglipron tablets and capsules in participants with obesity or overweight who were otherwise healthy. Materials and Methods This phase 1, multicenter, open‐label, multiple‐dose, dose‐escalation study was conducted in 429 healthy adults.

Diffusion tensor imaging in anterior interosseous nerve syndrome – functional MR Neurography on a fascicular level

open access: yesNeuroImage: Clinical, 2019
Purpose: By applying diffusor tensor imaging (DTI) in patients with anterior interosseous nerve syndrome (AINS), this proof of principle study aims to quantify the extent of structural damage of a peripheral nerve at the anatomical level of individual ...

Energetic stress in combination with impaired fatty acid oxidation induces sequestration of CoA and adaptation of CoA metabolism

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Computational modelling and in vitro liver cell experiments indicate that medium‐chain acyl‐CoA dehydrogenase (MCAD) deficiency causes an accumulation of (especially medium‐chain) acyl‐CoAs at the cost of free CoA (CoASH). A substantial decrease in CoASH impairs flux through many pathways essential for energy homeostasis.

Steroidogenic compensation and lipid deficiency with enhanced NAD+ salvage in small‐for‐gestational‐age placenta

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Fetal growth restriction is associated with placental metabolic adaptations. In small‐for‐gestational‐age placenta (SGA), cholesterol receptors and steroidogenic enzymes are upregulated, enhancing steroidogenesis. NAD salvage pathway is also increased to support NADP+/NADPH requirements.

Quantitative analysis of DNA‐GATA1 binding alterations linked to hematopoietic disorders

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Native holdup allows the quantitative determination of affinities between full‐length transcription factors and DNA. Mutations in either the protein or the DNA can modulate binding strength, which can be precisely quantified using this approach. Applied to GATA1, it revealed mutations that alter DNA binding.

Patents and Supra‐Competitive Prices: Evidence From Consumer Products

open access: yesJournal of Empirical Legal Studies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A patent system is a central tool in innovation policy. The prospect of monopolistic pricing supposedly encourages firms to innovate. However, there is scant empirical evidence supporting the existence of higher markups for patent‐protected products.

Conducting Medication Reviews: A Comparative Study Between ChatGPT‐4 and Healthcare Professionals

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The increasing prevalence of patients with hyperpolypharmacy (> 10 medications) has made medication reviews increasingly complex. ChatGPT‐4‐Turbo (ChatGPT), a large language model, has demonstrated potential in healthcare applications and could potentially support medication reviews.

Inter-carrier interference mitigation for underwater acoustic communications [PDF]

open access: yes
Communicating at a high data rate through the ocean is challenging. Such communications must be acoustic in order to travel long distances. The underwater acoustic channel has a long delay spread, which makes orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ...
