The effects of asymmetry atmospheric eddies on the beam spreading and wander of Bessel–Gaussian (BG) beams in anisotropic turbulence are studied. Results show that turbulence anisotropy leads to the declines in both beam spreading and wander of BG

Subcritical turbulence spreading and avalanche birth [PDF]
In confined plasmas, a localized fluctuation in a marginal or weakly damped region will propagate and generate an avalanche if it exceeds a threshold. In this letter, a new model for turbulence spreading based on subcritical instability in the turbulence intensity is introduced.

When does turbulence spreading matter? [PDF]
Few, if any, of the many papers on turbulence spreading address the key question of how turbulence spreading actually affects the profile structure. Here, we are using a reduced model to answer that question. Turbulence spreading is most relevant near regions where the profiles support a strong intensity gradient ∇I.

Physics of turbulence spreading and explicit nonlocality
Abstract In this paper, we systematically derive a model for turbulence spreading from the basic kinetic equation. The model contains explicit nonlocal nonlinear diffusion and nonlocal growth. When the nonlocality scale parameter δ b

Origin and turbulence spreading of plasma blobs [PDF]
The formation of plasma blobs is studied by analyzing their trajectories in a gyrofluid simulation in the vicinity of the separatrix. Most blobs arise at the maximum radial electric field outside the separatrix. In general, blob generation is not bound to one particular radial position or instability.

Effects of Anisotropic Turbulent Ocean on Propagation of Asymmetric Bessel-Gaussian Beam
Aiming at the propagation of asymmetric vortex beam, we investigate the spreading and wander characteristics of asymmetric Bessel-Gaussian beam in oceanic turbulence. Based on the cross-spectral density and Wigner distribution function of beam field, the
