Can Ti‐Based MXenes Serve as Solid Lubricants for Brake Applications? A Tribological Study
This study explores the first implementation of Ti‐based MXenes materials in brake pad friction composite material. The resulting composite material exhibits a 48% reduction in the wear rate; alongside significant improvements are observed for thermal and mechanical properties.

Differential analysis for the turbulent boundary layer on a compressor blade element (including boundary-layer separation) [PDF]
A two-dimensional differential analysis is developed to approximate the turbulent boundary layer on a compressor blade element with strong adverse pressure gradients, including the separated region with reverse flow.

Scalar Transport Characteristics Near the Turbulent/Non-Turbulent Interface in a Reactive Jet Flow
Turbulent/non-turbulent interface (T/NTI) layer separates the turbulent and non-turbulent regions. The study of T/NTI is helpful to deepen the understanding of mass transfer between turbulent and non-turbulent regions.

A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Particles turbulence interactions in boundary layers [PDF]
AbstractTurbulent dispersed flows in boundary layers are crucial in a number of industrial and environmental applications. In most applications, the key information is space distribution of particles which is known to be strongly non‐homogeneous. Specifically, inertial particles distribute preferentially avoiding strong vortical regions and segregating

Preliminary results from an experimental investigation of the initial condition effects on a turbulent shear layer [PDF]
A flow facility to create a plane shear layer from a laminar and a turbulent boundary layer was established. The spread rate parameter for these two conditions was accurately determined.

The work demonstrates that strategic wall‐thickness grading in diamond triply periodic minimal surface lattices enables precise tuning of deformation and failure behavior under compression. Different gradation patterns guide how and where the structure collapses, improving energy absorption or promoting controlled brittle failure.

Response of Ecosystem Carbon and Water Vapor Exchanges in Evolving Nocturnal Low-Level Jets
The nocturnal low-level jet makes a significant impact on carbon and water exchanges and turbulent mixing processes in the atmospheric boundary layer. This study reports a case study of nocturnal surface fluxes such as CO2 and water vapor in the surface ...
