On injection-ejection fluid influence through different accelerating porous surfaces on unsteady 2d incompressible boundary layer characteristics [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics, 2005
Through the porous contour in perpendicular direction, the fluid of the same properties as incompressible fluid in basic flow, has been injected or ejected with velocity who is a function of the contour longitudinal coordinate and time. The corresponding

Advances in the Prediction of the Statistical Properties of Wall-Pressure Fluctuations under Turbulent Boundary Layers

open access: yesFluids, 2022
Analytical or empirical models of the wall-pressure power spectral density under a turbulent boundary layer are often validated on test cases in an incompressible flow regime.

Selection of boundary conditions for modeling the turbulent exchange processes within the atmospheric surface layer [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерные исследования и моделирование, 2018
One- and two-dimensional hydrodynamic models of turbulent transfer within the atmospheric surface layer under neutral thermal stratification are considered.

Direct numerical simulation of a supersonic turbulent boundary layer subject to adverse pressure gradient induced by external successive compression waves

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
A freestream Mach 2.9 flat-plate supersonic turbulent boundary layer subject to a “pure” adverse pressure gradient (APG) without the impact of wall curvatures is studied by direct numerical simulation and compared with a benchmark flow with zero pressure

Influence of the Development History of Nozzle Wall Boundary Layer upon Wave Generation on a Liquid Jet Free Surface

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2009
The relation between the development of the wall boundary layer in a convergent nozzle and free surface waves on the emanated liquid jet has been investigated experimentally.

An experimental study on the equilibrium boundary layer subjected to favourable pressure gradient (Effect of pressure gradient on law of the wall)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2021
Effect of favorable pressure gradient on the wall similarity in turbulent boundary layer has been investigated experimentally. An appropriately adjusted pressure gradient produces an equilibrium boundary layer of which momentum thickness Reynolds number ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Assessment of Different Boundary Layer Parameterization Schemes in Numerical Simulations of Typhoon Nida (2016) Based on Aircraft Observations

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2023
This study aimed to find a boundary layer parameter scheme suitable for typhoons in the South China Sea based on a comparison with the aircraft detection data from Typhoon Nida (2016).

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.
