Turonian ammonites from northwestern Aquitaine, France

Cretaceous Research, 2016
Abstract The position of the Cenomanian-Turonian boundary is established for the first time in Charente-Maritime, northwestern Aquitaine (France), on the basis of ammonite occurrences and the δ13C isotope curve, corresponding to Oceanic Anoxic Event 2, that straddles the boundary.

Turonian to neogene palaeokarst in Israel

Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 1983
Abstract The extensive karstic system found today in Cretaceous carbonates in central and northern Israel has been developing since Late Turonian times. Initial Late Turonian karstic activity is evidenced by small sand-filled solution cavities within the upper Turonian sequence.

Cenomanian–Turonian rudist (bivalvia) lithosomes from NW of Jordan

Journal of African Earth Sciences, 2015
Abstract Two rudist lithosomes characterized by high abundance but low in diversity are described from five measured-stratigraphic sections in the Upper Cretaceous Hummar and Wadi As Sir Limestone Formations in the Ajlun and Kitim areas, in NW Jordan.

Foraminifera of the Type Turonian

Micropaleontology, 1966
The Turonian type section (upper Cretaceous of the Paris basin near Tours), as defined by Lecointre in accordance with d9Orbigny9s original concept, is briefly described to indicate the stratigraphic position of the samples studied. Foraminifera occur in the lower part of the section exclusively; fifteen species, two of them new, are discussed and ...

Flowers of Turonian Magnoliidae and their implications

1994
Recently discovered fossil flowers of Magnoliidae from Atlantic Coastal Plain deposits of Turonian age are considered in the context of the overall fossil record of magnoliid reproductive remains. The assemblage of fossils from these Turonian localities is diverse and affects our understanding of the history of reproductive structures in the ...

Turonian plants from the southern Negev, Israel

Cretaceous Research, 1997
This paper contains the first description of Upper Cretaceous plants from Israel. Plants of this age in the Middle East have previously been reported only from southern Jordan and Lebanon. The Gerofit flora recovered from Israel is stratigraphically useful because it occurs in well-dated Turonian deposits containing ammonites and bivalves.
