The geometrical origin of the strain-twist coupling in double helices [PDF]
A simple geometrical explanation for the counterintuitive phenomenon when twist leads to extension in double helices is presented. The coupling between strain and twist is investigated using a tubular description.

The tunability of the interlayer coupling by twisting one layer with respect to another layer of two-dimensional materials provides a unique way to manipulate the phonons and related properties.

Assessment of the application "twist-off" method for determining the in situ compressive and flexural strengths in the fiber concrete [PDF]
Since the batching, transportation, pouring, compaction and curing of the specimens used in laboratory testing of concrete, either from these employed in real structures, the in-situ methods are needed for assessing the quality of existing concrete in ...

Twisted cohomotopy implies twisted string structure on M5-branes [PDF]
We show that charge-quantization of the M-theory C-field in J-twisted Cohomotopy implies the emergence of a higher Sp(1)-gauge field on single heterotic M5-branes, which exhibits a worldvolume Stringc2-structure.

Investigation on the effect of cotton-tencel (50:50) siro yarn twist multipliers on fabric stiffness
The properties of fabrics are mainly affected by constituent fiber properties and yarn structures. The yarn structures are primarily dependent on the spinning technique.

Explicit formulae for Chern-Simons invariants of the hyperbolic J(2n,-2m) knot orbifolds
We calculate the Chern-Simons invariants of the hyperbolic double twist knot orbifolds using the Schläfli formula for the generalized Chern-Simons function on the family of cone-manifold structures of double twist knots.

Transverse structure of the pion beyond leading twist with basis light-front quantization
We investigate the twist-3 transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) of the pion with basis light-front quantization. The twist-3 TMDs are not independent and can be decomposed into twist-2 and genuine twist-3 terms from the ...

Spinorially Twisted Spin Structures, III: CR Structures [PDF]
We develop a spinorial description of CR structures of arbitrary codimension. More precisely, we characterize almost CR structures of arbitrary codimension on (Riemannian) manifolds by the existence of a Spin$^{c, r}$ structure carrying a partially pure spinor field.

Twist Automorphisms and Poisson Structures
We introduce (quantum) twist automorphisms for upper cluster algebras and cluster Poisson algebras with coefficients. Our constructions generalize the twist automorphisms for quantum unipotent cells. We study their existence and their compatibility with Poisson structures and quantization.

Twist Structures and Nelson Conuclei
Motivated by Kalman residuated lattices, Nelson residuated lattices and Nelson paraconsistent residuated lattices, we provide a natural common generalization of them. Nelson conucleus algebras unify these examples and further extend them to the non-commutative setting.
