Two-component signaling system is present throughout different kingdoms of life forms with high abundance among prokaryotes. The two-component system responds to a variety of environmental stimuli and is also important mode of communication among pathogens for the elaboration of virulent factors.

Abstract In this chapter, we will discuss the signal transduction systems known as the two-component systems. This review covers the literature in this area through July 1995. Signal transduction by these systems requires at least one each of two different types of conserved protein domains, known as the histidine protein kinase domain ...

Two-Component Regulatory Systems
2014Originally characterized for nitrogen regulation (NtrB-NtrC), chemotaxis (CheA-CheY-CheB), osmoregulation (EnvZ-OmpR), and regulation of phosphate uptake (PhoR-PhoB) in Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhimurium, the family of two-component systems has rapidly expanded, and new examples continue to emerge.

Conductivity of two‐component systems
GEOPHYSICS, 1996We present measurements and computer simulation results on the electrical conductivity of nonconducting grains embedded in a conductive brine host. The shapes of the grains ranged from prolate‐ellipsoidal (with an axis ratio of 5:1) through spherical to oblate‐ellipsoidal (with an axis ratio of 1:5).
