Electrodynamic approach for calculating the absorption spectra of plasmons in a rectangle with a two-dimensional electron gas excited by an incident electromagnetic wave [PDF]
The purpose of this research is to develop an electrodynamic method for calculating the plasmon spectrum in a three-dimensional structure with a two-dimensional electron gas excited by an incident electromagnetic wave. Methods.

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐

Magnetotransport in the two-dimensional Lorentz gas [PDF]
We consider the two-dimensional Lorentz gas with Poisson distributed hard disk scatterers and a constant magnetic field perpendicular to the plane of motion. The velocity autocorrelation is computed numerically over the full range of densities and magnetic fields with particular attention to the percolation threshold between hopping transport and pure ...

Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

Vortex formation in a two-dimensional Bose gas [PDF]
We discuss the stability of a homogeneous two-dimensional Bose gas at finite temperature against formation of isolated vortices. We consider a patch of several healing lengths in size and compute its free energy using the Euclidean formalism. Since we deal with an open system, which is able to exchange particles and angular momentum with the rest of ...

The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

Thermoelectric Modules Incorporating MgAgSb and Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 Synthesized Using a Melting Method
A scalable synthesis method for a thermoelectric material of MgAgSb is established. A thermoelectric power module of MgAgSb/Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 is fabricated, showing the conversion efficiency of 7.4% at ΔT = 315 K. The performance is comparable to conventional Bi2Te3 modules when they are operated with an air‐cooled heat exchanger.
