Two-phase flow in a narrow annular channel between stationary and rotating cylinders

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2021
The results of a numerical study of three-dimensional two-phase flow in a channel between coaxial cylinders, which arises due to axial pressure drop and rotation of the inner cylinder, are presented.

Characterization of Two-Phase Flow in Microchannels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Aluminum multi-port microchannel tubes are currently utilized in automotive air conditioners for refrigerant condensation. Recent research activities are directed toward developing other air conditioning and refrigeration systems with microchannel ...

Leveraging current insights on IL‐10‐producing dendritic cells for developing effective immunotherapeutic approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In vivo IL‐10 produced by tissue‐resident tolDC is involved in maintaining/inducing tolerance. Depending on the agent used for ex vivo tolDC generation, cells acquire common features but prime T cells towards anergy, FOXP3+ Tregs, or Tr1 cells according to the levels of IL‐10 produced. Ex vivo‐induced tolDC were administered to patients to re‐establish/

Heat Transfer Deterioration by the Copper Oxide Layer on Horizontal Subcooled Flow Boiling

open access: yesApplied Mechanics, 2023
Water–copper is one of the most common combinations of working fluid and heating surface in high-performance cooling systems. Copper is usually selected for its high thermal conductivity and water for its high heat transfer coefficient, especially in the

Flow states of two dimensional active gels driven by external shear [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Using a minimal hydrodynamic model, we theoretically and computationally study active gels in straight and annular two-dimensional channels subject to an externally imposed shear. The gels are isotropic in the absence of externally- or activity-driven shear, but have nematic order that increases with shear rate.

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

Prediction of two-phase flow through a safety relief valve [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Safety relief valves are necessary elements in any pressurised system. The flow inside the safety relief valve shows a number of interesting, yet complicated, features especially when a two-phase flow is involved.

The immunological interface: dendritic cells as key regulators in metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) affects nearly one‐third of the global population and poses a significant risk of progression to cirrhosis or liver cancer. Here, we discuss the roles of hepatic dendritic cell subtypes in MASLD, highlighting their distinct contributions to disease initiation and progression, and their ...

Influence of spheroidal particle shape on particle size characterization by multi-wavelength light extinction method

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
In order to improve the applicability, spheroidal particles are substituted for the spherical particles in the traditional modeling of multi-wavelength light extinction method.

A MULTIPHASE FLOW LOOP DESIGN FOR INVESTIGATING THE PARTIAL PHASE SEPARATION IN A PIPE TEE

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2019
This article presents a design and commissioning of a multiphase flow loop, which was developed for scrutinizing the partial phase separation characteristics of pipe Tees. Its length is 9m and its primary diameter is 0.078m (3 inches).
