Fingerprinting Acoustic Localization Indoor Based on Cluster Analysis and Iterative Interpolation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Fingerprinting acoustic localization usually requires tremendous time and effort for database construction in sampling phase and reference points (RPs) matching in positioning phase.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Investigating the Consumption Pattern of Domestic Water by Segmentation Approach for Water Consumers (Case Study: Domestic Water Consumers in Ilam City) [PDF]

open access: yesآب و فاضلاب, 2018
The aim of this study is to identify domestic water consumption among citizens of Ilam using a segmentation approach based on demographic variables. Water consumption pattern in this study was investigated with a cognitive-behavioral approach.

Two stage adaptive cluster sampling based on ordered statistics

open access: yesAdvances in Methodology and Statistics, 2019
The estimation problem on sparsely distributed populations using adaptive cluster sampling (ACS) is discussed. In the first phase of ACS, two stage sampling is used in which primary and secondary sampling units are selected using simple random sampling without replacement.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Bayesian Predictive Inference for a Finite Population Proportion: Two-Stage Cluster Sampling

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1993
SUMMARY Given binary data from a two-stage cluster sample, we present a method to carry out Bayesian predictive inference for a finite population proportion. Our probabilistic specification should be useful for many surveys of this type and yields simple analytical expressions for the prior and posterior mean and variance. Within cluster

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
