The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Nearest neighbours in least-squares data imputation algorithms with different missing patterns [PDF]
Methods for imputation of missing data in the so-called least-squares approximation approach, a non-parametric computationally efficient multidimensional technique, are experimentally compared.

Two-stage least squares and indirect least squares algorithms for simultaneous equations models
This paper analyzes the solution of simultaneous equations models. Efficient algorithms for the two-stage least squares method using QR-decomposition are developed and studied. The reduction of the execution time when the structure of the matrices in each equation is exploited is analyzed theoretically and experimentally. An efficient algorithm for the

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Estimating the Capital Asset Pricing Model with Many Instruments: A Bayesian Shrinkage Approach
This paper introduces an instrumental variable Bayesian shrinkage approach specifically designed for estimating the capital asset pricing model (CAPM) while utilizing a large number of instruments.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Local RBF approximation for scattered data fitting with bivariate splines [PDF]
In this paper we continue our earlier research [4] aimed at developing effcient methods of local approximation suitable for the first stage of a spline based two-stage scattered data fitting algorithm.

We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.
