A fully intuitionistic fuzzy multi-objective linear fractional fixed charge optimization model for sustainable transportation planning in the sugar-mill industry [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Control Sciences
Sustainability has recently grown to be a primary focus for transport planning and policies in both developing and developed nations. The paper focuses on the sustainability of a multiobjective linear fractional fixed charge transportation model that ...

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Theory and Applications of Robust Optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we survey the primary research, both theoretical and applied, in the area of Robust Optimization (RO). Our focus is on the computational attractiveness of RO approaches, as well as the modeling power and broad applicability of the ...

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Approach for Optimizing 3D Highway Alignments Based on Two-stage Dynamic Programming

open access: yesJournal of Software, 2013
Optimizing highway alignments is a very complex engineering problem. None of existing methods has totally solved the problem In this paper we build an optimization model for highway 3D alignment based on two-stage dynamic programming, in which the comprehensive cost and design constraints are embedded.

Two-stage optimisation of the multiphase production [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Two approaches to the optimisation of the multiphase production process are presented in this paper. The first model - model I is a static one, using enterprise input/output modelling and linear programming simultaneously.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
