TRAINING AND THE TWO WAY MEMORY EFFECT IN COPPER BASED SHAPE MEMORY ALLOYS [PDF]

open access: yesLe Journal de Physique IV, 1991
Experimental results giving information about the mechanisms of the two way memory effect are presented. It is shown that local martensite stabilization and true plastic deformations have to be considered as undesirable side-effects of training.

Temperature memory effect in two-way shape memory TiNi and TiNiCu springs [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Materials Science, 2006
An incomplete thermal cycle upon heating in a shape memory alloy (arrested at a temperature between As and Af) induced a kinetic stop in the next complete thermal cycle. The kinetic stop temperature is closely related to the previous arrested temperature. This phenomenon is named temperature memory effect (TME).

A study of two-way shape memory effect in CuZnAL aLloy

open access: yesJournal de Physique III, 1991
A new comparatively convenient training program for two-way shape memory effect (TWSME) in CuZnAl alloy was introduced. The internal friction, frequency, zero point shift of torsion pendulum and electric resistance were synchronistically measured during TWSME cycle.

Design of Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Copolymer Fiber with Two-Way Shape Memory Effect [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers, 2019
One-dimensional shape memory polymer fibers (SMPFs) have obvious advantages in mechanical properties, dispersion properties, and weavability. In this work, a method for fabricating semi-crystallization ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) fiber with two-way shape memory effect by melt spinning and ultraviolet (UV) curing was developed.

Thermal-Mechanical Properties of Polyurethane-Clay Shape Memory Polymer Nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Shape memory nanocomposites of polyurethane (PU)-clay were fabricated by melt mixing of PU and nano-clay. Based on nano-indentation and microhardness tests, the strength of the nanocomposites increased dramatically as a function of clay content, which is

High-performance fibrous artificial muscle based on reversible shape memory UHMWPE

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2022
Shape memory polymer fibers (SMPFs) are an important branch of intelligent fibers. Due to their ability to deform under external stimuli, shape memory polymer fibers have been used in intelligent textiles, polymer fillers and medical fields, including ...

A simple and universal strategy for preparing external stress-free two-way shape memory polymers by making use of the chemical crosslinkages derived from peroxide initiator

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2020
In the present work, a new strategy for preparing authentic two-way shape memory polymer was proposed by using a conventional crosslinked polyurethane (PU) containing crystalline poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) as the proof-ofconcept material.

Formation mechanism of heterogeneous microstructures and shape memory effect in NiTi shape memory alloy fabricated via laser powder bed fusion

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2023
Additive manufacturing involves the process of track-by-track melt pools accompanied by the localized rapid melting/solidification, which can determine unique nonequilibrium microstructures.

Shape Memory Alloys (Part II): Classification, Production and Application [PDF]

open access: yesKemija u Industriji, 2014
Shape memory alloys (SMAs) have been extensively investigated because of their unique shape memory behaviour, i.e. their ability to recover their original shape they had before deformation.
