High-Throughput Sequencing Indicates a Novel Marafivirus in Grapevine Showing Vein-Clearing Symptoms

open access: yesPlants, 2021
A putative new marafivirus was identified in a ‘Jumeigui’ grapevine exhibitting obvious vein-clearing symptoms by high-throughput sequencing, which tentatively named grapevine-associated marafivirus (GaMV).

Complete nucleotide sequence and genome organization of Olive latent virus 3, a new putative member of the family Tymoviridae

open access: yesVirus Research, 2010
The complete nucleotide sequence and the genome organization were determined of a putative new member of the family Tymoviridae, tentatively named Olive latent virus 3 (OLV-3), recovered in southern Italy from a symptomless olive tree. The sequenced ssRNA genome comprises 7148 nucleotides excluding the poly(A) tail and contains four open reading frames

Engineering Maize rayado fino virus for virus‐induced gene silencing

open access: yesPlant Direct, 2020
Maize rayado fino virus (MRFV) is the type species of the genus Marafivirus in the family Tymoviridae. It infects maize (Zea mays), its natural host, to which it is transmitted by leafhoppers including Dalbulus maidis and Graminella nigrifrons in a ...

Discovery of a New Virus of the Family Tymoviridae Isolated from Mosquitoes of the Genus Mansonia in Brazil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Abstract A new virus, named Mutum virus, of the Family Tymoviridae was isolated from mosquitoes (Mansonia spp.). This virus was isolated in clone C6/36 cells. After complete sequencing, it presented a genome with 6,494 nt. The isolated virus is phylogenetically more related to two viruses isolated from Culex spp.
