The double-peaked Type Ic supernova 2019cad: another SN 2005bf-like object [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2021
ABSTRACT We present the photometric and spectroscopic evolution of supernova (SN) 2019cad during the first ∼100 d from explosion. Based on the light-curve morphology, we find that SN 2019cad resembles the double-peaked Type Ib/c SN 2005bf and the Type Ic PTF11mnb.

Progenitor for Type Ic Supernova 2007bi [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2011
AbstractWe investigate the evolution of very massive stars with Z = 0.2 Z⊙ to constrain the progenitor of the extremely luminous Type Ic SN 2007bi. In order to reproduce the 56Ni amount produced in SN 2007bi, the range of the stellar mass at the zero-age main-sequence is expected to be 515 - 575M⊙ for pair-instability supernova and 110 - 280M⊙ for core-

LPMO‐like Activity of Bioinspired Copper Complexes: From Model Substrate to Extended Polysaccharides

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 15, Issue 23, December 7, 2023., 2023
The catalytic activity of several LPMO‐bioinspired copper complexes was assayed on different substrates of increasing complexity (soluble to extended insoluble polysaccharides). The different assays are compared and proof‐of‐concept that bioinspired complexes can oxidatively promote polysaccharide depolymerization was obtained. Mechanistic pathways and

Bis[1]benzothieno[1,4]thiaborins as a Platform for BODIPY Singlet Oxygen Photosensitizers

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 29, Issue 36, June 27, 2023., 2023
We present the synthesis and physicochemical studies of two regioisomeric π‐electron‐extended [1,4]thiaborins annulated with two benzothiophene units. They were used as scaffolds to construct thiaborin‐based BODIPY singlet‐oxygen photosensitizers with evident potential for use as photocatalysts.

ULTRA-STRIPPED TYPE Ic SUPERNOVAE FROM CLOSE BINARY EVOLUTION [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2013
Recent discoveries of weak and fast optical transients raise the question of their origin. We investigate the minimum ejecta mass associated with core-collapse supernovae (SNe) of Type Ic. We show that mass transfer from a helium star to a compact companion can produce an ultra-stripped core which undergoes iron core collapse and leads to an extremely ...

Limit on Supernova Emission in the Brightest Gamma-Ray Burst, GRB 221009A

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
We present photometric and spectroscopic observations of the extraordinary gamma-ray burst (GRB) 221009A in search of an associated supernova. Some past GRBs have shown bumps in the optical light curve that coincide with the emergence of supernova ...

Absolute-Magnitude Distributions and Light Curves of Stripped-Envelope Supernovae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The absolute visual magnitudes of three Type IIb, 11 Type Ib and 13 Type Ic supernovae (collectively known as stripped-envelope supernovae) are studied by collecting data on the apparent magnitude, distance, and interstellar extinction of each event ...

On Core Collapse Supernovae in Normal and in Seyfert Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This paper estimates the relative frequency of different types of core-collapse supernovae, in terms of the ratio f between the number of type Ib--Ic and of type II supernovae.
