Enterococci are considered mainly responsible for the undesirable accumulation of the biogenic amines tyramine and putrescine in cheeses. The biosynthesis of tyramine and putrescine has been described as a species trait in Enterococcus faecalis. Tyramine

ABSTRACT Atopic dermatitis and psoriasis are two common cutaneous chronic inflammatory diseases. Although they share similar immunological mechanisms, their clinical implications in the patient are different. This review compares both diseases from different points of view such as genetics, natural history, triggers of disease, and skin barrier defects

Ancient coexistence of norepinephrine, tyramine, and octopamine signaling in bilaterians [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Norepinephrine/noradrenaline is a neurotransmitter implicated in arousal and other aspects of vertebrate behavior and physiology. In invertebrates, adrenergic signaling is considered absent and analogous functions are performed by the ...

Biogenic amine content in sterilised and pasteurised long-term stored processed cheese
The contents of eight biogenic amines (tryptamine, phenylethylamine, histamine, tyramine, putrescine, cadaverine, spermidine and spermine) were determined in samples of processed cheese, either pasteurised (P) or sterilised (S), and consequently stored ...

Maternal brewer's yeast supplementation did not change the milk oligosaccharide (HMO) concentration, but more mothers felt their milk supply was increased, and fewer reported formula use by 6 months postpartum compared to those taking the placebo. This suggests the supplement may support breastfeeding, warranting further investigation in larger trials.

ABSTRACT Seed defence priming is emerging as a novel, cost‐efficient and environmentally safe tool for pest management. It has been proposed as a means to uncouple the defence‐growth trade‐off in plants by enhancing defence responses with minimal fitness costs, but the mechanisms underlying this role remain elusive.
