Evidence from Rb–Sr mineral ages for multiple orogenic events in the Caledonides of Shetland, Scotland [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Shetland occupies a unique central location within the North Atlantic Caledonides. Thirty-three new high-precision Rb–Sr mineral ages indicate a polyorogenic history.

In situ rutile U-Pb dating by laser ablation-MC-ICPMS

open access: yesGEOCHEMICAL JOURNAL, 2013
Copyright © 2013 by The Geochemical Society of Japan. et al. (2007), Zack et al. (2011) and Kooijman et al. (2010). This method is limited to rutile grains with sufficient U in order to get suitable Pb signal intensity (Zack et al., 2011). It is well known that multi collector ICPMS offers advantages in terms of higher sensitivity, flat top peak shape ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

U-Pb dating of calcite veins reveals complex stress evolution and thrust sequence in the Bighorn Basin, Wyoming, USA

open access: yesGeology, 2018
We report U-Pb absolute ages of calcite cements from a diffuse vein network documented in the Bighorn Basin (Wyoming, USA), where distinct systematic vein sets developed at the front of the thin-skinned Sevier orogen, during Laramide layer-parallel ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Coupled Zircon-Rutile U-Pb Chronology: LA ICP-MS Dating, Geological Significance and Applications to Sediment Provenance in the Eastern Himalayan-Indo-Burman Region

open access: yesGeosciences, 2019
U-Pb dating by LA ICP-MS is one of the most popular and successful isotopic techniques available to the Earth Sciences to constrain timing and rates of geological processes thanks to its high spatial resolution, good precision (absolute U/Pb age ...

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Metali u tragovima u sedimentu iz Morinjskog zaljeva: Povijesni prikaz antropogenih imisija u plitki Jadranski zaljev [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Geochemical and sedimentological characteristics, the sediment accumulation rate (by 137Cs dating) and vertical distribution of trace metals (Pb, Cu, Zn) in sediments from Morinje Bay (Central Dalmatia-Croatia) have been studied.
