Four problems regarding representable functors

open access: yes, 2010
Let $R$, $S$ be two rings, $C$ an $R$-coring and ${}_{R}^C{\mathcal M}$ the category of left $C$-comodules. The category ${\bf Rep}\, ( {}_{R}^C{\mathcal M}, {}_{S}{\mathcal M} )$ of all representable functors ${}_{R}^C{\mathcal M} \to {}_{S}{\mathcal M}$

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Cosmological Bounds of Sterile Neutrinos in a S U(3) C ⊗S U(3) L ⊗S U(3) R ⊗U(1) N Model as Dark Matter Candidates [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Physics, 2016
We study sterile neutrinos in an extension of the standard model, based on the gauge group S U(3) C ⊗S U(3) L ⊗S U(3) R ⊗U(1) N , and use this ...

Spectroscopy of the hidden-charm $[qc][\bar q \bar c]$ and $[sc][\bar s \bar c]$ tetraquarks

open access: yes, 2018
We calculate the spectrum of $q\bar q c \bar c$ and $s\bar s c \bar c$ tetraquarks, where $q$, $s$ and $c$ stand for light ($u,d$), strange and charm quarks, respectively, in a relativized diquark model, characterized by one-gluon-exchange (OGE) plus ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Čistilište u misli C. S. Lewisa

open access: yesCrkva u svijetu : Crkva u svijetu

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

On a quasigroup prolongation and its recursive differentiability

open access: yesActa et Commentationes: Ştiinţe Exacte şi ale Naturii
We consider a method of quasigroups prolongation by adding two new elements and by using two transversals that intersect in exactly one cell. In a Latin square L of order q, along with usual transversals we call "free transversals" any set of q cells ...
