Statins are the microsomal 3-hydroxy-3methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase inhibitors used for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia. Some recent studies revealed also the extra-lipid effects and anticancer activities. Due to the wide incidence of cancer diseases, the number of studies dealing with anticancer statin activities has grown in recent years.

A Testis‐Specific Aralkylamine N‐Acetyltransferase Regulates Dimorphic Sperm Function and Male Fertility in Moths

We identify a Lepidoptera‐conserved testis‐specific arylalkylamine N‐acetyltransferase (LTNAT) that governs male moth fertility via a novel mechanism. LTNAT loss disrupts eupyrene sperm mitochondrial derivatives and impairs apyrene sperm motility, offering a safe molecular target for innovative pesticides and genetic pest control.

Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) exerts protein‐dependent neuroprotective effects in an MPTP‐induced Parkinson's disease model. In casein‐fed mice, TRF improves gut barrier integrity and reduces neuroinflammation, possibly via modulation of Allobaculum and BCAAs.

SLC2A3‐Mediated Lactate Metabolism Promotes Lung Cancer Bone Metastasis by Modulating P53 Lactylation and Immune Evasion

SLC2A3 derived lactate promotes metastasis through p53 lactylation at K120 and osteoclast differentiation. Pharmacological inhibition of SLC2A3 upregulates PD‐1 expression on CD8+ T cells via lactate induced p53 lactylation, which modulates immune evasion.
