Analysis of the Bearing Characteristics of Single Piles under Vertical and Torsional Combined Loads
To investigate the bearing characteristics of single piles under the combined action of vertical loads (V) and torque (T) on a pile head, the displacement governing equations of the pile shaft were proposed in consideration of the load transfer method ...

Prediction of Ultimate Torque of Reinforced Concrete Box Beam Bonded with CFRP Strips
One control and three strengthened Reinforced Concrete (RC) beams with box-section were subjected to pure torsion. The proposed strengthening schemes were U-jacketing or U-jacketing with longitudinal strips of fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP). The U-jacketing strips exhibited a reasonable improvement to the ultimate torque from the experimental ...

Highly efficient spin-orbit torque and switching of layered ferromagnet Fe3GeTe2 [PDF]
Among van der Waals (vdW) layered ferromagnets, Fe3GeTe2 (FGT) is an excellent candidate material to form FGT/heavy metal heterostructures for studying the effect of spin-orbit torques (SOT).

Exploring the phase diagram of fully turbulent Taylor-Couette flow [PDF]
Direct numerical simulations of Taylor–Couette flow, i.e. the flow between two coaxial and independently rotating cylinders, were performed. Shear Reynolds numbers of up to 3×105, corresponding to Taylor numbers of Ta=4.6×1010, were reached.

Analysis of API 5C3 failure prediction formulae for casing and tubing [PDF]
Due to the increasing demand for oil and gas, coupled with the fact that oil reserves are becoming rather scarce, the petroleum industry is pushed to drill and complete deeper wells. Threaded connections are often the weakest link in this process and are
